The Aras Free Zone Organization, as the governing body and parent institution of the Aras UNESCO Global Geopark, has officially joined the World Tourism Organization as an affiliate member.

The unique tourism capacities of the region—including its historical and natural attractions such as the Aras UNESCO Global Geopark—alongside the infrastructure developed in recent years, and the dedicated management structure within the organization (including tourism and geopark departments), enabled the Aras Free Zone Organization to be recognized as a destination management organization.

Accordingly, during the Executive Council meeting of the World Tourism Organization held on November 8, the Aras Free Zone Organization was admitted as an affiliate member.
