In the most recent investigation of Late Permian nautiloid assemblages from the Aras UNESCO Global Geopark (northwestern Iran), a new species has been established under the name Liroceras choopani. The taxonomic designation was made in honor of Hadi Choopan, internationally renowned professional bodybuilder and the first Iranian recipient of the Mr. Olympia title, in recognition of his exemplary discipline, perseverance, and achievements.
